Orientation tips for new hospitalist hires
Hospitalist Leadership Connection, July 29, 2008
Retaining hospitalists can be as challenging as recruiting them. One way to keep staff on board for the long run is to begin your retention effort on the date of hire: create a strong orientation system that transitions new hires into the program. National hospitalist physician search firm Cejka Search posted three tips on its blog to creating a strong and effective program:
- Implement a formal training
- Introduce the new hire to existing staff in arranged meetings
- Create social events for new hires and their family members
Cejka Search provides a monthly column in the featured Recruiting Tip of the Month, found in the premium subscription-based HCPro newsletter, Hospitalist Management Advisor.
