Hospitalist Leadership Connection, July 15, 2008

In a feature article, Today’s Hospitalist magazine named the top four case studies that changed the way hospitalists practice medicine: “The year’s most influential studies” from the July issue. Presented at the Society of Hospital Medicine 2008 annual meeting by Joseph Li, MD of Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, MA and Jeffrey Glasheed, MD of the University of Colorado in Denver, the cases include information about hydrocortisone’s lack of effect on septic shock survival, anticoagulation and recurrence, fractures and zoledronic acid, and community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) and antibiotics.
