Real estate downturn hurts physician recruitment

The struggling real estate market is impacting physician recruitment, according to a recent study released by national healthcare staffing agency Delta Physician Placement. In addition to being concerned about physician shortages, healthcare facilities are now also considering relocation issues—whether candidates will accept job offers if they can’t sell their current homes. Delta Physician Placement recommends impressing candidates on the first and only interview, as more hospitals move away from the two-interview recruitment process.
