Society of Hospital Medicine creates hospital medicine fellowship
Hospitalist Leadership Connection, April 15, 2008
For those hospitalists that have been itching to put more acronyms after their names, SHM has created the hospital medicine fellowship credential. “Hospitalists have been asking for a unique designation that clearly identifies those physicians whose career is dedicated to hospital medicine,” said the CEO of SHM, Larry Wellikson, in a press release.
Applications for the fellowship will become available this fall, and the first class of hospital medicine fellows will be inducted in Chicago at Hospital Medicine 2009, SHM’s annual meeting.
