Your facility should have policies and procedures for natural disasters that are likely in your area, such as fires, tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, and earthquakes. Other policies and procedures should include:

  • Severe weather, including disruption of services due to winter storms
  • Water shortages or disruptions
  • Power outages
  • Chemical spills
  • Bomb threats
  • Radiological accidents
  • Bioterrorism
  • Call system failure
  • Heat and humidity problems
  • Loss of telephone system
  • Elevator breakdown
  • Environmental emergencies
