Long-Term Care

Expect more state agencies to talk to ombudsman

Contemporary Long-Term Care Weekly, August 9, 2007

CMS' survey-and-certification letter S&C-07-26 reminds state survey agencies that they must notify their long-term care ombudsman when they make certain findings of noncompliance or adverse events. In addition, state survey agencies have to set up systems for regular communication to notify the state ombudsman of proposed survey dates and to obtain information and complaints from the ombudsman.
