CMS makes it official: 3.3 percent increase in FY08
Contemporary Long-Term Care Weekly, August 2, 2007
CMS confirmed this week that Medicare payments for SNFs will increase by 3.3% in 2008, or approximately $690 million, according to a CMS press release. Additionally, the rates will maintain a special adjustment of 128% to payments that cover nursing home residents with HIV/AIDS.
"The SNF rule demonstrates our commitment to ensure that Medicare is affordable for current beneficiaries and is sustained for future generations by paying accurately and efficiently," said CMS Acting Administrator Herb Kuhn. The final rule will be published in the Federal Register tomorrow (August 3), and CMS' press releases are available online at http://www.cms.hhs.gov/snfpps/.
