Contemporary Long-Term Care Weekly, June 14, 2007
A study by the Nelson A. Rockefeller Institute of Government put Medicaid spending for nonprofit nursing homes at $11 billion for fiscal year 2004, the year for which data was most recently available. Although there is currently no measure to track Medicaid funding per facility, the study stated that spending has increased by nearly 300% in the past decade overall for small healthcare providers. Medicaid paid for approximately 16% of all healthcare delivered in the United States in 2005, the study stated.
