OSHA issues guidance for pandemic flu
Contemporary Long-Term Care Weekly, May 31, 2007
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) last week served up new guidance for preparing for a flu pandemic. Entitled "Pandemic Influenza Preparedness and Response Guidance for Healthcare Workers and Healthcare Employers," OSHA published in depth explanations for infection control, pandemic preparedness, clinical information related to flu, and standards of special importance.
OSHA also included in the document sample infection control plans, pandemic tools, and technical support information. The guidance is available for download through HCPro's Web site at http://www.hcpro.com/content/70948.cfm.
