OSHA includes SNFs in 2007 Targeted Inspection Plan

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) last week announced its 2007 Targeted Inspection Plan, which will include nursing homes and personal care facilities, according to an OSHA press release. The inspections will affect only the highest 50% of rated establishments, and will focus on ergonomics and safe patient handling issues, infection control, tuberculosis exposure, and "slips, trips, and falls."
