SNF prices jump again

Contemporary Long-Term Care Weekly, March 8, 2007

In 2006, the average price paid per bed in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) hit $47,400, according to report by Irving Levin Associate, Inc. The report, The Senior Care Acquisition Report, found that the price per SNF bed jumped 10% from 2005 and 50% from 2003. Increasing demand is making SNFs more attractive over traditional real estate properties, the report stated. Facilities driving the market are those with renovation possibilities and a strong Medicare census.
