Association supports letter opposing budget cuts
Contemporary Long-Term Care Weekly, February 21, 2007
The American Health Care Association (AHCA) is encouraging its members to support a letter sent to House Budget Committee Chair John Spratt (D-SC) and Ranking Member Paul Ryan (R-WI) opposing the Bush administration's proposed slash to the Medicare and Medicaid budget, according to an AHCA press release. U.S. Rep. Shelley Berkley (D-NV) and Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) drafted the letter to inform the Bush administration that skilled nursing facilities will bear the brunt of the reductions. The letter urged the administration to enact reasonable inflation adjustments and fair reimbursement for unpaid Medicare copayments, according to the press release.
