Contemporary Long-Term Care Weekly, November 15, 2006

Rhode Island's Department of Health released a survey of nursing home residents' and their relatives' satisfaction with the state's 92 nursing homes, reported The Providence Journal. More than 3,000 residents and 4,000 relatives answered the survey, which asked questions about food taste, staff, and activities. The results indicated that residents were pleased with their living situation with an average score of 3.69 out of 4, while their relatives ranked the nursing homes at 3.6 out of 4. Nursing homes paid for the state-mandated survey, according to the newspaper.
