Contemporary Long-Term Care Weekly, October 16, 2006

The Central Pennsylvania Patriot-News. The bill, S. 957, is now waiting for the state Senate to weigh in. Under this bill, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nurse assistants working in nursing homes and other healthcare facilities are prohibited from working mandatory overtime, reported the paper. An exception to this rule is emergency situations, during which nurses may be required to work overtime as long as the facility first attempted to find another nurse to fill in.
