Quality of life campaign kicks off in Washington, DC

September 29, 2006 in Washington DC, several long-term care organizations launched a campaign to improve the quality of life for nursing home residents. The Advancing Excellence in America's Nursing Homes campaign brought together almost 500 long-term care providers, government officials, caregivers, and medical and quality improvement experts, stated an American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging press release. The purpose of the campaign is for these organizations to work together and help strengthen the public's opinion and trust in nursing homes by focusing on quality improvement and accountability, the press release stated. Two focuses of the campaign are to encourage others to volunteer at nursing homes and to help nursing homes achieve their quality improvement goals.
