A new bill, S.3815, was introduced to legislation last week to advance residents' quality of care in long-term care facilities. The Long Term Care Quality and Modernization Act of 2006 was created to promote investments in capital improvements and health technology, aid in developing a committed workforce, address access and financing concerns for seniors, and ensure that residents receive necessary rehabilitation, stated an American Health Care Association press release. The bill also seeks to train surveyors and providers and modernize Medicare payment policies, the release stated.
