Contemporary Long-Term Care Weekly, September 19, 2006

A survey conducted by KRC Research on behalf of the Medicare Rx Education Network found that 82% of seniors enrolled in Medicare Part D are satisfied with their coverage. The survey, conducted by telephone, interviewed 802 seniors aged 65 and older. The Medicare Rx Education Network said the majority of seniors participating in Part D obtain prescription medicines through the Medicare drug coverage. Seventy-nine percent of seniors said their total out-of-pocket costs are reasonable, while 61% said they now spend less on medications. Ninety-two percent said the Part D plan is convenient to use.
