CNAs do a lot of heavy lifting in the course of their days and may sometimes experience arthritic symptoms, such as from osteoarthritis.
Osteoarthritis may not be completely preventable, but certain measures may keep it from becoming worse. Use the following preventive methods to take care of your joints:
*Maintain an appropriate weight.
*Do not overuse your joints. For instance, nursing staff should use equipment such as mechanical lifts to reduce stress on the joints.
*Warm up your muscles before using them.
*Wear shoes that fit properly and provide good support.
As with osteoarthritis, there is also no cure yet for rheumatoid arthritis. Medication, exercise, surgery, and diet are the treatment measures for this disease.
