Q: A resident leaves a SNF on April 9 and is admitted to the hospital. From there, she is discharged to home. She had used 25 days of her Medicare coverage in the SNF. On May 17, she returns to the hospital and is discharged back to the SNF on May 23. She is not within her 30 day window, but there has not been a 60-day period of wellness. Can she access Medicare for this SNF stay?
