The MDS 3.0 link: Care plan survey deficiencies

In the past month, SNFs had an awful lot on their proverbial plate. With the implementation of the MDS 3.0 October 1, facilities were faced with a wave of new requirements, and subsequently, a need to devote a lot of time and resources to ensure an understanding of the new assessment. In all likelihood, two of the more pressing concerns were determining how to correctly complete the MDS 3.0, and when assessments must be done in compliance with CMS’ transition options.
With so much attention on these two critical elements of the MDS 3.0, it’s easy for facilities to temporarily ignore or forget about other important measures.
