Where can I find information on the QI/QM report?
Contemporary Long-Term Care Weekly, June 24, 2010
Q: We teach the MEPAP 2nd edition – the required course for those pursuing certification through NCCAP as a certified activity director or assistant. Our class begins in a few days and I can find nothing about the quality indicator report and how that will change with the new MDS for the little or no activity section or quality of life as those questions have been eliminated. Do you have any information on the quality indicator report and what it will look like and the direct link for it?
A: The current Quality Indicator/Quality Measure (QI/QM) report will be used until January 2011. After October 1, 2010, the MDS 3.0 data will be used for QI/QMs. This means there will be a period of time where there will not be enough data to generate a report. The new QI/QMs should be endorsed for use by the National Quality Forum by September 2010. You can find the proposed QI/QMs at the following website: http://www.qualityforum.org/Projects/Nursing_Homes.aspx
