Open registration for DMEPOS competitive bidding
Contemporary Long-Term Care Weekly, August 20, 2009
CMS announced August 17 that suppliers of Medicare Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) can now register for the Round 1 Rebid of the competitive bidding program. Registration, which will end November 4 at 9:00 p.m. EST, must be done online at the Competitive Bidding Implementation Contractor Web site, according to CMS.
CMS encourages suppliers interested in placing bids to register right away. An Authorized Official (AO) listed on the CMS-855S enrollment form must register before approving other supplier employees to serve as Backup Authorized Officials (BAO) or End Users (EU). Therefore it is recommended that AOs register no later than September 14 to ensure that BAOs and EUs are able to do so prior to the 60-day bid window slated to begin October 21.
