New Recovery Audit Contractor FAQs
Contemporary Long-Term Care Weekly, May 21, 2009
CMS updated the frequently asked questions (FAQ) about the Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) program on May 19. The four new FAQs, which can be accessed from the RAC page of the CMS Web site, tell providers why CMS is using RACs, confirm that RACs will be looking at evaluation and management services on physician claims under Part B, and give contact information for the RACs.
One of the latest FAQs informs providers that if they cannot reach their RAC through the customer service line, they can email RAC-related questions to CMS at CMSRAC@cms.hhs.gov.
