CMS seeks comments on proposed delay to DMEPOS competitive bidding
Contemporary Long-Term Care Weekly, February 12, 2009
CMS seeks comments on a proposed 60-day delay in the effective date of the Interim Final Rule for the durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) competitive bidding program, according to the February 10 Federal Register.
The Interim Final Rule requires Round One of the program to be re-bid this year and delays Round Two until 2011. It also requires contractors to disclose subcontracting relationships, enacts a notification procedure to inform suppliers of missing financial information, and establishes a Program Advisory and Oversight Committee. Comments must be received on or before February 13.
