CMS is revising its MDS 3.0 timeline, but the agency is still “working aggressively toward” an October 1, 2009 implementation date for the new assessment system, officials said at a January 29 SNF/Long-Term Care open door forum.
HCPro first reported this story on January 29 at MDSCentral, the online resource for MDS 3.0 information.
CMS has found “some inaccuracies” in the MDS 3.0 timeline and CMS will be revising it, officials said at the open door forum.
When asked whether providers could still expect to see a final MDS 3.0 form released in March, as the original MDS 3.0 timeline projected, Sheila Lambowitz, division director of the Chronic Care policy group at CMS, said “we’re evaluating the whole process and we’ll let you know as soon as we can.”
