Cuts to Medicaid: How will they affect your facility?

As the United States endures the worst economic crisis since the 1930s, the healthcare industry faces cuts that could devastate our nation’s nursing homes. In an effort to reduce large budget deficits, many states are making cuts to Medicaid, a program on which approximately 60% of nursing home residents rely.
Although slashing Medicaid reimbursement rates and coverage and imposing more restrictive eligibility guidelines may save a few state dollars, such measures could create severe financial problems for SNFs and force many to close their doors. Don’t let your facility be one of them.
