The unveiling and implementation of the new SNF advanced beneficiary notice (ABN) has been delayed even further, CMS officials announced during the December 11 SNF open door forum. CMS officials did not provide an exact implementation date but hope to release the long-awaited SNF ABN in the late spring or early summer of 2009.
As for the revised version of F309 Quality of Care: Assessment and Management of Pain, CMS officials announced a tentative effective date in March 2009 and plan to provide advanced notice in January.
