CMS releases report about physical restraint use

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently released a report titled Freedom from Unnecessary Physical Restraints: Two Decades of National Progress in Nursing Home Care.

According to the report, the percentage of nursing home residents in daily physical restraints declined from 21.1% in 1991, to 5% in 2007.
