Even though the particulars of the MDS 3.0 are still unknown, it’s not too early to start preparing your facility for the new form, regulatory specialist Diane Brown said during the September 18 HCPro audio conference, “Prepare for the MDS 3.0: Implementation Challenges and Action Plans.”
Providers need to plan ahead for the transition to the MDS 3.0 because it will prompt multiple changes—including the implementation of the next resource utilization group (RUG) classification system—on the same day, Brown said.
