The details of the MDS 3.0 are still unknown, but it’s safe to say your staff members will need additional training to adjust to the updated assessment system.
To ensure your staff is prepared for the new MDS, identify which staff members will need training and what kind of training they will require. While MDS coordinators will require detailed training, many other departments, such as billing and medical records, rely on information from the MDS and may need some basic education about the new assessment system.
Don’t forget to budget for training manuals and programs.
