Five star quality system on Nursing Home Compare Web site
Contemporary Long-Term Care Weekly, July 3, 2008
CMS is expecting to launch a ranking system for nursing homes that utilizes star numbers to represent quality, according to an agency press release.
The system is designed to provide individuals seeking nursing home care an assessment on quality that is comprehensible. CMS is requesting comments on the proposed set-up of the system, and received many inquiries during last week’s open door forum.
The rankings are expected to be posted by the end of the year. CMS also provides a sample screen shot of what the star ranking system will look like.
