Wisconsin sets up wound care certification program

Contemporary Long-Term Care Weekly, July 3, 2008

The state of Wisconsin announced the development of a collaborative effort between multiple organizations to certify 200 of the state’s registered nurses (RNs) in long-term care to become certified pressure ulcer specialists, according to a state Department of Health and Family Service press release.

RNs will be able to sign up for week-long certification courses beginning in the fall. The cost will be $1000 per RN—the rest of the cost, calculated to be $2,500, is covered by the multiple organizations sponsoring this initiative.
