Preventing a long-term care facility lawsuit from being filed by providing safe, effective care is far less costly than defending one. Many of the lawsuits filed against long-term care facilities are the direct result of:
• Inadequate staffing
• Heavy staff turnover
In addition to these problems, some lawsuits specifically allege that the injuries sustained by the resident were the result of:
• Inadequate staff training and education
• Inadequate staff supervision; or
• A combination of all four factors
This tip is from HCPro’s book The Long-Term Care Legal Desk Reference.
