OIG releases 2008 Work Plan

The OIG's recently-released 2008 Work Plan addresses a variety of topics related to Medicare Part D reimbursement.
The OIG plans to review:
- Medicare Part D v. Medicare Part B average sales prices
- Medicare Part D coordination of benefits with other prescription drug coverage
- Potential fraudulent drug overutilization by dual-eligible beneficiaries under Medicare Part D
- Medicare Part D explanation of benefits forms
- Beneficiary complaints about Medicare prescription drug plans
The Work Plan also identifies a number of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) related items, such as assessing the oversight of off-label drug promotion, research misconduct by clinical investigators, and financial disclosure requirements for investigators.
