Massachusetts AG reaches settlement with drug company on price reporting litigation

Pharma Compliance Alert, August 22, 2007

Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley's office has reached a settlement with one of 13 generic drug manufactures that was charged with inflating drug prices.

Coakley says the inflated prices reported by Missouri-based ETHEX Corporation caused Massachusetts' Medicaid program to pay more than it should have for drugs prescribed to Medicaid recipients.

According to Coakley's Web site, ETHEX agreed to repay the Commonwealth a total of $574,998 over the next two years and provide $150,000 in free drugs to what?. ETHEX denied any wrongdoing and maintained its price reporting was legal. To view the entire press release, click here.
