No disclosure bill in NM

Pharma Compliance Alert, March 4, 2009

The New Mexico Senate rejected a bill requiring pharmaceutical manufacturers to report gifts to physicians, according to an Associated Press article.

The bill would have created a data base of gifts of more than $100 physicians received from pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers. Free samples would have been exempt from reporting. The senate voted 24-16 against the measure.
