Free White Paper available: Current guidelines for CME funding

Pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device industry support for continuing medical education (CME) is a highly sensitive area. Congress is encouraging pharmaceutical companies to disclose how much funding they provide, and academic institutions are changing their guidelines for accepting industry support. Despite the challenges, pharmaceutical and medical device companies continue to support CME.
Despite all the scrutiny of CME funding, physicians believe CME is very valuable. Because CME is both useful to and desired by physicians, pharmaceutical companies need to stay informed about the new ethics guidelines affecting CME in order to provide the information physicians want, while minimizing legal risks.
