Compliance not a one-person job

Pharma Compliance Alert, November 5, 2008

Pharmaceutical companies need to think about the big picture in order to integrate compliance throughout the business, Mary Riordan, senior counsel at the OIG, said at the Pharmaceutical Regulatory and Compliance Congress in Washington, D.C.

Recent corporate integrity agreements require multiple members of the organization to certify company compliance. That increased accountability throughout the company will help compliance officers and help drive home the point that compliance is not just one person’s job.

Riordan challenged companies to find innovative ways to improve their compliance programs.
