Prosthetics company investigated for fraud

FBI agents raided the Georgia offices of Preferred Prosthetics & Orthotics Inc. looking for evidence the prosthetics company defrauded Medicare, according to an article in the Augusta (GA) Chronicle.
The agents are investigating whether the company, which specializes in limbs, braces, mastectomy bras, and orthopedic shoes, submitted claims for items that were not medically necessary or were not provided.
The FBI collected computers, billing receipts, and other business documents during the raid.
