Washington says 'no' to anti-data mining law

Another attempt to ban data mining ended unsuccessfully when a bill in Washington state failed to gain enough votes to be debated in the state House of Representatives.
Data mining laws in Maine and New Hampshire were struck down as unconstitutional in court challenges. A proposed law in Vermont is currently facing legal challenge. Earlier this year, the Washington D.C. city council removed a ban on data mining from a bill requiring pharmaceutical sales representatives to be licensed.
