Pharma Compliance Alert, March 5, 2008
A new bill introduced in the Massachusetts senate would ban all gifts from pharmaceutical companies to physicians, according to an article in the Boston Globe.
If the bill passes, Massachusetts would become the first state to outright ban gifts from pharmaceutical companies. Prohibited gifts would include:

- Subscriptions
- Pens bearing a drug company logo
Anyone who violates the ban could be fined $5,000, face two years imprisonment, or both.
