New Jersey AG investigating Amgen
Pharma Compliance Alert, January 23, 2008
New Jersey Attorney General (AG) Anne Milgram is investigating whether Amgen violated patient confidentiality laws in order to market Enbrel, according to an article in The New York Times.
The investigation stems from allegations by two former Amgen sales representatives, who claim they were told to look through patient records to find people who might be candidates for Enbrel. More information about the allegations appears in the January 16 issue of Pharma Compliance Alert.
A state-issued subpoena calls for Amgen to deliver all documents and information about the marketing, sale, and prescription of Enbrel between July 2002 and the present, according to a press release from the AG.
