DMEPOS fee schedule updated
Device Regulation Alert: Safety, Compliance and Reimbursement News, January 7, 2008
Forty-two HCPCS codes were deleted and 32 new HCPCS codes were added to the 2008 DMEPOS fee schedule, according to a CMS transmittal and MLN Matters Article. The new codes became effective January 1, 2008.
Other updates, including revisions to payment categories and other changes, affect billing for controlled dose inhalation drug delivery system, composite dressing, and stationary oxygen equipment. The new national monthly payment for stationary oxygen equipment will be $199.28, which CMS notes is slightly lower than previously announced.
The transmittals also note that a KC modifier must be included when billing for full replacement of specific power wheelchair interface codes.
