Workers infected by meningitis after infection control practices were overlooked

A police officer and healthcare worker were hospitalized after a lack of communication and infection control procedure caused a meningitis outbreak last December in California.

The police officer was hospitalized for five days while the healthcare worker was hospitalized for 11 days.
