Study: Elderly patients inappropriately receive urinary catheters

A new study in the November issue of the American Journal of Infection Control found that elderly women are at a higher risk for inappropriately receiving urinary catheters in emergency departments.

The study was performed at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit.
