Infection prevention bundles have been used more frequently in healthcare facilities, particularly to prevent surgical site infections (SSI).

A recent study published in the May issue of the American Journal of Infection Control showed an 85% reduction in cesarean section (C-section) infections with the use of a bundle including two percent chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG)/70% isopropyl alcohol, a two percent CHG cloth, instrument sterilization, staff education, and training.
