An April 12 New York Times Op-Ed authored by Richard P. Wenzel, a professor of internal medicine and an infectious disease specialist at Virginia Commonwealth University, reviews some of the major lessons learned form this year’s H1N1 pandemic.

Although it was not as serious as many anticipated, Wenzel argues that in order to better prepare ourselves for future disease outbreaks, it’s important to look at failures, successes, and areas of improvement.
