Sentara Joint Commission standard IC.01.02.01 reads as though it is a very simple directive: Hospital leaders allocate needed resources for the infection prevention and control program. But what does that mean exactly?

It seems that most IC programs around the country could use additional resources, whether it's more staff members, new technology, or more training materials. It's no secret many IPs feel overworked and under-funded.
