More confusion, doubt on N95 protection from H1N1

The authors of a key study on N95 respirator use for H1N1 influenza protection have retracted their conclusion about favoring N95 masks over surgical or procedure masks, according to a October 31 MedPage Today article.
The problem is that the study was part of recommendations considered by CDC, and supported by OSHA in developing its recently released interim guidance on the use of respirators for healthcare workers.

Meanwhile, Ohio has already amended its N95 requirements based on the retraction, and other states will at least consider the option.
