Although Lysol might be effective in killing 99% of bacteria on your kitchen counter, it’s not intended for counter surfaces in medical facilities, Kathy Rooker writes on OSHA Healthcare Advisor.

You must choose an EPA registered disinfectant to ensure you are killing HIV and hepatitis B. Once you have chosen the appropriate product, make sure the housekeeping schedule is up-to-date and provides cleaning frequency, Rooker says.
